Matthew J. Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Matthew J. Hawkins brings more than 16 years of technology experience to this role.
Prior to joining Vitera, Matt was Chief Executive Officer at SirsiDynix, a global software company that brings the power of knowledge and information to nearly 150 million users affiliated with more than 23,000 library facilities in 70 countries.He previously served as Chief Operating Officer at SirsiDynix, where he helped transform the sales and operations of the business to better serve its customers. He is a member of SirsiDynix’s Board of Directors. Prior to SirsiDynix, Matt was Vice President and General Manager of Henry Schein Practice Solutions, a provider of healthcare software, revenue cycle management, electronic claims aggregation and value-added services to more than 65,000 oral health practices. Before joining Henry Schein, Matt served as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company in Dallas, Texas. He began his career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Laurens Albada, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Laurens Albada brings 15 years of financial and operational experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera Healthcare Solutions, Laurens was Vice President of Finance at the International Development Group of Research Triangle Institute, where he had global responsibility for financial operations in over 30 countries. He also worked at Misys Healthcare Systems, since acquired by Allscripts, where he was V.P. of Finance for both Payerpath, a provider of revenue cycle management solutions, and for the Physician Systems business, a provider of financial and clinical software solutions. Laurens started his career on the General Electric Corporate Audit Staff, the company’s premier leadership development program. Laurens received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rob Smalling, Senior Vice President, Customer Support and Human Resources
As SVP of Customer Support and Human Resources, Rob Smalling brings over 25 years of HR and Operational experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera Healthcare solutions, Rob held the role of SVP Global Customer Operations for Sunquest Information Systems. Rob has spent 22+ years in the Healthcare space, first with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, then with Misys Healthcare Systems and most recently, Sunquest Information Systems. During the course of his career Rob has held several roles with increasing responsibilities in Human Resources, Customer Support, and Customer Operations. Rob is a graduate of William Paterson University with a degree in Communications.
Mark Janiszewski, Senior Vice President of Product Management
As SVP of Product Management, Mark brings over 20 years experience in hi tech sales and marketing.
Prior to joining Vitera Healthcare Solutions, Janiszewski spent nine years at McKesson Corporation’s Healthcare IT business, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in product management and product marketing within the company’s document imaging and revenue cycle groups. Before McKesson, Janiszewski worked 13 years at Nortel Networks, where he held various product management, marketing and technical sales responsibilities with its optical networking and network access divisions. Janiszewski received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and completed his Chartered Accountant preparations at McGill University, also in Montreal.
Abolfazl Sirjani, Senior Vice President, Development and Product Management
As Senior Vice President of Development and Product Management, Abolfazl Sirjani is responsible for setting product direction and leading the engineering team to develop the next generation of Vitera Healthcare Solutions’ products.
Abolfazl brings more than 25 years experience in technology strategy, architectural development and programming to Vitera Healthcare Solutions. Prior to joining the Healthcare Division in 2010, Abolfazl was the VP of Microsoft Technology and Standards Strategy at Citrix where he was responsible for overall technology strategy between Citrix and Microsoft, served on the DMTF board and initiated adoption of the DMTF standards in Citrix XenServer. He worked at BMC Software architecting management tools and managing the strategic planning and R&D department; and he was with the Advanced Technology group in IBM Application System Division architecting database and operating systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Washington State University.
Jeff Cummings, Vice President of Client Relations
As Vice President of Client Relations, Jeff Cummings brings over 15 years of information technology experience focused in client loyalty development and customer service operations.
Prior to joining Vitera, Jeff was Director of Customer Service for Bankrate, the largest online insurance lead aggregator, where he was responsible for leading the Customer Service, Account Management and Loss Prevention Organizations. Jeff worked with TouchStar Software as the Vice President of Customer Service, where he managed Technical Support, Client Relations and the SaaS Division. Before joining TouchStar, Jeff spent 7 years with FrontRange Solutions in the CRM and ITSM Divisions where he held various roles including management of the Technical Support, eBusiness and Information Technology Organizations.
Mary Mieure, Vice President Client Support
As Vice President, Client Support, Mary Mieure is responsible for software and hardware technical and field support, along with purchasing and order administration.
She brings over 18 years of experience in the healthcare information technology space to Vitera Healthcare Solutions. Most recently she lead the Global Client Support Services organization at Sunquest Information Systems. In her role at Sunquest she was responsible for software and hardware technical support. She started her career working for Medic Computer Systems working in Implementation and Corporate Training. When Medic was acquired by Misys she lead the technical training, also gaining experience in the area of Human Resources and soft skills training. Follow on that experience she joined Sunquest Information Systems where she spent the majority of her time leading the Support operation.
Lara Caldwell Stout, Vice President, Professional Services
As Vice President of Professional Services, Lara Caldwell Stout brings 14 years of HIT experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera Healthcare Solutions, Stout was Vice President of Services Operations and Methodology at McKesson, a leading healthcare solutions company. During the course of her career at McKesson, she held various leadership roles, including responsibility for the company’s Document Imaging Services group. Before working at McKesson, Stout was Practice Director at Quovadx, a provider of healthcare integration software and transaction services. Stout received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University.
