Matthew J. Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Matthew J. Hawkins brings more than 16 years of technology experience to this role.
Prior to joining Vitera, Matt was Chief Executive Officer at SirsiDynix, a global software company that brings the power of knowledge and information to nearly 150 million users affiliated with more than 23,000 library facilities in 70 countries.He previously served as Chief Operating Officer at SirsiDynix, where he helped transform the sales and operations of the business to better serve its customers. He is a member of SirsiDynix’s Board of Directors. Prior to SirsiDynix, Matt was Vice President and General Manager of Henry Schein Practice Solutions, a provider of healthcare software, revenue cycle management, electronic claims aggregation and value-added services to more than 65,000 oral health practices. Before joining Henry Schein, Matt served as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company in Dallas, Texas. He began his career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Laurens Albada, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Laurens Albada brings 15 years of financial and operational experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera, Laurens was Vice President of Finance at the International Development Group of Research Triangle Institute, where he had global responsibility for financial operations in over 30 countries. He also worked at Misys Healthcare Systems, since acquired by Allscripts, where he was V.P. of Finance for both Payerpath, a provider of revenue cycle management solutions, and for the Physician Systems business, a provider of financial and clinical software solutions. Laurens started his career on the General Electric Corporate Audit Staff, the company’s premier leadership development program. Laurens received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Kermit Randa, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing
As EVP of Sales and Marketing, Kermit brings over 20 years of health information technology experience.
Prior to joining Vitera, Kermit served as Chief Operating Officer at Surgical Information Systems (SIS), which specializes in anesthesia and perioperative software solutions. Prior to his time at SIS, Kermit worked in leadership roles with various companies including EMC Corporation and Siemens Healthcare. Currently, he is a Board member of the Georgia Chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and participates on two mHIMSS Taskforce groups. He received a Master’s in Health Administration at Xavier University and has earned the prestigious Fellow designation within the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Rob Smalling, Senior Vice President, Customer Support and Human Resources
As SVP of Customer Support and Human Resources, Rob Smalling brings over 25 years of HR and Operational experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera, Rob held the role of SVP Global Customer Operations for Sunquest Information Systems. Rob has spent 22+ years in the Healthcare space, first with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, then with Misys Healthcare Systems and most recently, Sunquest Information Systems. During the course of his career Rob has held several roles with increasing responsibilities in Human Resources, Customer Support, and Customer Operations. Rob is a graduate of William Paterson University with a degree in Communications.
Mark Janiszewski, Senior Vice President of Product Management
As SVP of Product Management, Mark brings over 20 years experience in hi tech sales and marketing.
Prior to joining Vitera, Mark spent nine years at McKesson Corporation’s Healthcare IT business, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in product management and product marketing within the company’s document imaging and revenue cycle groups. Before McKesson, Mark worked 13 years at Nortel Networks, where he held various product management, marketing and technical sales responsibilities with its optical networking and network access divisions. Mark received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and completed his Chartered Accountant preparations at McGill University, also in Montreal.
Shantanu Paul, Senior Vice President of Product Development
As SVP of Product Development, Shantanu brings over 15 years experience in overall IT and healthcare IT.
Prior to joining Vitera, Shantanu spent more than 8 years at Allscripts, where he held various positions of increasing responsibility in the product development and product management departments. He has also served on various technical committees in IHE, an organization dedicated to interoperability in healthcare IT. Before Allscripts, Shantanu worked at FatWire, a web-based content management solution provider, where he held various positions in product development, services delivery and solution sales. Shantanu received a bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Jadavpur University in India, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.
Sam Snider, General Counsel
As General Counsel, Sam Snider brings over 12 years of legal experience to Vitera Healthcare Solutions.
Prior to joining Vitera, Sam was vice president and lead acquisition counsel for LexisNexis, where he was responsible for the company's global M&A activities in the United States, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining LexisNexis, Sam was a corporate lawyer in the Atlanta office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, a large international law firm. Sam is a frequent writer and speaker on corporate law and M&A matters and has been named a Georgia Rising Star by Atlanta and Georgia Super Lawyers magazines. Sam is a member of the American Bar Association. Sam earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and his JD from New York University School of Law.
Jeff Cummings, Vice President of Client Relations
As Vice President of Client Relations, Jeff Cummings brings over 15 years of information technology experience focused in client loyalty development and customer service operations.
Prior to joining Vitera, Jeff was Director of Customer Service for Bankrate, the largest online insurance lead aggregator, where he was responsible for leading the Customer Service, Account Management and Loss Prevention Organizations. Jeff worked with TouchStar Software as the Vice President of Customer Service, where he managed Technical Support, Client Relations and the SaaS Division. Before joining TouchStar, Jeff spent 7 years with FrontRange Solutions in the CRM and ITSM Divisions where he held various roles including management of the Technical Support, eBusiness and Information Technology Organizations.
Jimmy Kelly, Vice President Professional Services
As Vice President, Professional Services, Jimmy Kelly brings over 19 years of technology experience in professional services, sales and operations.
Prior to joining Vitera, Jimmy held two vice president positions at P2 Energy Solutions. As Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for driving financial and customer results in key business lines of professional services delivery and business process outsourcing. In his role as Vice President of Sales Operations, Kelly led teams focused on sales performance metrics, sales training, inside sales, and sales support. Prior to P2 Energy Solutions, Kelly spent 12 years at SourceNet Solutions, where he held a variety of senior positions. His early career was spent at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Universal Computer Systems.
