Sage eBrief sat down with Rick Mullins, VP President of Knowledge & Consulting Services for Sage, to discuss his new position and the new services his team is offering to help healthcare organizations adopt best practices that align with the emerging ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) "meaningful use" standards.
Sage eBrief: Rick, most practices who are familiar with you know you as the Vice President of Operations. Tell us about your new position.
Rick Mullins: As we met with practices across the country we asked what more Sage could provide to them to help make their organizations more efficient and profitable. We received a lot of feedback that helped us come up with the suite of services we are now offering. For the past several months, I have been heavily involved in structuring this new department and the offerings we have. I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to bring this new suite of services to our customers.
Sage eBrief: Tell us a little about the service offerings, Rick.
Rick Mullins: Many of the services we have will complement the products and services we've been providing to healthcare organizations for years. These include operational services such as Revenue Cycle Optimization and business process design; clinical services such as EHR readiness assessments, preparation and planning, clinical trials support and template and form design. There are also Technology Services that would offer IT infrastructure design and planning as well as Practice Portal optimization for our Sage Intergy clients. In addition, we understand the need for Business Intelligence Services. This will provide the analytics that are so essential to our customers. We provide specialized reporting that covers key performance indicators and clinical performance measures, and apply trending and benchmarking to show how the business is tracking.
Sage eBrief: That’s great - It sounds like you have a full suite of services that will help practices achieve their goals.
Rick Mullins: Yes, we've given this a lot of thought and have engaged many customers to make sure we are leveraging our knowledge and experience to best guide our customers toward that achievement. The timing couldn't be better! Our team of experts is well equipped and anxious to help healthcare organizations adopt best practices that align with the emerging ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) "meaningful use" standards.
